Art history without the velvet rope
Art Analyzed started as a habit of standing too long in front of one painting and ended up as a couple of hundred thousand people doing the same thing on their phones. No jargon for its own sake, no reverence for reverence's sake — just what is actually happening on the canvas and why someone bothered to put it there.
Every piece in this portfolio has a video behind it. This site is the quieter version: the notes, the details worth zooming into, and the reading list I keep meaning to post.
